2026: The Year of the Lord
Psalm 45:6 - Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
As we step into a brand new year, I welcome you to 2026 - The Year of the Lord. This is more than a theme; it is a divine invitation to surrender, to align, and to walk intentionally with God throughout the days ahead.
Watchwords for the Year 2026:
2026 is the Year of the Lord. His throne stands forever, His justice rules over our lives and His will orders our steps. We surrender our days, our dreams, and our future, choosing to move only at His calling and not in fear. The Lord goes before us, His faithfulness never fails and His peace surrounds us in every season. We rise daily in His strength, empowered to walk in His glory and fulfill His purpose. Our lives are fully His, marked by His presence, crowned with His goodness, and devoted to His praise.
What This Year Means Spiritually:
1. Surrender to God’s Lordship
Let this be the year where we don't just call Him Lord but live like He truly is. Give Him your first, your time, thoughts, plans, and worship.
Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
2. Walk in His Justice and Peace
God’s scepter is not one of fear but of righteousness and justice. In a world of confusion, let His peace reign in your heart.
Isaiah 9:7
Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne… with justice and righteousness.
3. Be Led, Not Driven
This year, we move only at His calling. No more striving. Let His voice lead your steps, your decisions, your direction.
Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
4. Daily Strength for Purpose
Every day in 2026 is an opportunity to rise not in your strength but in His.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…
Reflection:
As the year begins, take time to reflect:
- What am I surrendering to God this year?
- In which areas do I need His justice, peace, or order?
- Where do I need to slow down and wait for His voice?
A Declaration for 2026:
This year is Yours, Lord. I surrender my days, my dreams, and my decisions. I will not run ahead of You. I will walk in Your strength, live in Your peace, and shine with Your glory. My life is Yours — use it for Your praise.”
A Closing Prayer:
Lord, as we walk into 2026, we place every day before You. Let Your will be done in our lives. Let this year be marked by Your presence, directed by Your wisdom, and filled with Your peace. We surrender all and say this year is Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
